Love Is Love

Right on!

This.

Congrats to America, what a big step in the right direction. If you disagree that's your right but you can't stop others from living their life with their choices. It's unacceptable. And who do you think you are to dictate someone else's life?

Okay, I'm out!

Summer Structure

Hi!

Now that it's summer children need structure. Like hardcore. If you don't things can get boring fast, maybe kids end up watching too much t.v. and the learning ends up stopping. But it is crucial you keep some type of schedule. Kids thrive on it. And it keeps them prepared for the school year and makes the transfer to fun summer much easier.

The best thing about summer is that is is fun! You can do outdoor activities, take "field trips" and just get to spend more time. Obviously it's hard for working parents to plan a full day, but that's fine, it just makes your free time that much more special, so don't worry about that!

Here is our schedule for each week.

I had the kids be involved by helping with picking the topics they wanted to do. That way they knew we were going to do fun things, not just me telling them what to do. I think it helps get them excited for all of our activities! Every day for a few weeks this summer Bridget and Jack have swim lessons then I pick them up. So they are always hungry afterward from their big work outs. They eat breakfast usually around 8 am. So their snack is around 10 am.

Since it's summer I like to get the kids out of the house and stay active instead of being glues to the television, they really do turn into zombies... kinda freaks me out! I'll try to talk to them, it's like I'm not there. So we are cutting the t.v. in half! So we will hang out outside and play baseball or shoot hoops. I prefer chalk drawing with Bridget! Sometimes we like to eat outside on beach towels! Make sure the kids drink plenty of water, especially if they are running around. Some days it's too hot to stay out long so we figure out something to do inside.

Monday
It is math day! Bridget loves math, and I swear these kids are geniuses! I realized I still count on my fingers, they just spit out like it was nothing! At the dollar store they so many teacher things, we bought these dry erase books for all different subjects including math. Also I use Pinterest for EVERYTHING. I highly suggest if you don't use it already you get on that. You won't regret it! I print out little lessons, and when we don't have ink I just hand write it on paper for them. We we'll be working on addition and subtraction skills. They know the basics so that's awesome. But I'm also watch a new kids Peyton but he knows almost nothing! So I have to cater to each child. A little hard since their are 3 kids and only 1 me, but I'm up for the challenge!

Also every Monday I have a planned craft. That helps with learning instructions and as I say "using our listening ears". With the younger kids that really helps. It can be frustrating not knowing how to do stuff. So can work on motor skills, holding pencils properly, using scissors, and it's fun to make something. Bridget loves it, crafts are her favorite! This week we did a Fourth Of July lanterns. Of curse I forgot red paint........ but I had red contrsution paper and cut out circles to glue on. They ended up not looking holiday themed but they love using paint! And since we love paint so much we made fire works too, but I wasn't planned for that so I didn't have black paper! Oh well, we still had fun. Afterward is free time and just play whatever we are feeling like, outside or inside, and sometimes Bridget and I play Barbies or make believe. The boys play sports outside, sometimes inside, haha!

That's Peyton on the left and Jack on the right. And Bridget's fireworks are below.

Tuesday
Science! What a cool topic every kid should learn. Some ideas to study can be weather, ecosystems/animals, the ocean and earth/space. This upcoming week my boyfriend, Sean is treating the kids and we are going to Dinosaur State Park (It's little CT museum with real fossils they found on that actual spot! How crazy is that, it also has an arboretum and little hiking trails that are easy for the little ones to walk. It's going to be an entertaining day, that's for sure! I plan on doing little craft and science experiments outdoors! I also will be finding an educational program on youtube. And we have tons of books. Sometimes we do music day and learn a group song or just Bridget and I do karaoke!

Here is just one website I found to help you. It's a good one, with games, experiments, quizzes, videos and an array of topics, some I didn't even think of!

Wednesday
Reading is so important. I can't stress that enough. It helps expand their vocabulary and they will read for the rest of their lives. Bridget can read know and jack is 4 so he's on his way, he is advanced and went to a private preschool that he got a scholarship too! I just went to a the town hall when I was a kid. They taught him so much there. Each week the kids can take turns picking a book for me to read. Then we will do private read, either they can read to us or read by themselves. She wants to read chapter books with me. I'm excited to read the books I did when I was her age. Miss Piggly Wiggly, Junie B. jones, and The Magic Tree House. Jack will read pre-K level books that he can help read and learn basic words.

Then we do free play and free crafts were they can use their imagination to create anything they want and pick whatever mediums they want to use. I'm going to try and show them more then just crayons and paint! Oil pastels and chalk pastels are great, loved when we finally started learning about different artist and recreating their masterpieces. Bridget learned about them this past year in first grade and says she wants to teach Jack. Too adorable!

Thursday
Movie day! Exciting for me as well. I love Disney and I'm looking forward to showing them the classics. They know all the new stuff like Frozen, Cars, Monster's Inc. All fantastic Pixar movies. I want to show them all my old VHS tapes, 2 years ago I played Snow White, the original OG princess and first full length picture by Walt Disney. My favorite. She was like why do we have to rewind? She couldn't believe how big it was, I was like omg, am I that old?! We are having a bucket of different themes and every week they will take turns getting to draw a paper. Such as Disney, Pixar, Classics such as Wizard Of Oz, Pippy Long Stockings, and Annie. Musicals will be a fun one. When they get the theme we will pick a few options of that and then the person who pulled it out will get the finally say.

Also it's group game day, we have puzzles which is good for thinking and motor skills. Board games like classic shoots and ladders. Or we will play a game like tag. So Thursday's are pretty chill days. Kids need a relax day too as do we adults! Check out goodwill and savers if you can't afford games, but the $1 store has puzzles and you can stock up on any supplies you can think of for crafts!

Friday
History... my favorite subject. My brother is the smartest guy I know, he can memorize dates and details of everything. I basically can only remember the key parts. So bad, but I love learning about it. We're going to start will American history. The basics though because they are only 4 and Bridge is about to be 7. War can wait...  If I decided I want kids I'm going to be pretty open, well to an extent. But they are not my children so it's not my discussion about those kind of topics. I figure we can learn some key dates, American symbols, and presidents. Other little stuff like that. We will do little projects, once again Pinterest people! So much to choose from. There are good books at the library and if you don't have time to go there you can actually find many books or short videos on youtube. Bridget and I watched Liberty Kids, I was addicted to that show.  You can find almost all the episodes on Youtube. We watched "The First 4th Of July" so she learned about the Declaration Of Independence and the people who helped make it. It was a little hard for her but she did retain some of the knowledge. Jack and Payton ended up leaving after the crafts but did learn about the American Flag before we started that. We also make sure to have outdoor play and free time along with arts and craft. They can decided what they want to do or I can plan something if they want me too, if it's raining I help out more with planning activities so we don't get bored. But they can watch t.v. I'm not a total monster, haha!

Liberty Kids < -- click for a youtube playlist. I suggest you keep it 7 & up. Too much for little ones to grasp or even be able to follow along. But you can find more simple stuff if you search a bit for them.

I hope this schedule can guide you to have a wonderful and active summer with your kids! And don't worry I will be showing you some of the stuff we do and even DIYs so you can try too. I can't wait to show the kiddos new things and share the stuff I enjoyed learning as a kid.

Thanks for reading, hope this helped!

Kindergartners are smarter than me! I would be like do you want to build a snow man or sing Disney songs. Then I'd be taken and be studied in a lab..... Awkward.

Jack's First Summer Vacation!

Hi people,

Jack had his first last day of school! School's out for summer! (Sung that line). Can't believe how much he's grown up! Already a four year old. This summer will hopefully be fun and creative with crafts, my favsies! Bridget got out Tuesday so we've already started!

Jack got flowers for his teachers, how adorable. Also Donna loves my idea of have all the teachers sign the Oh The Places You Go by Dr. Seuss. Each year till his last day of 12th grade. And she also has one for Bridget. They even sell ones with a section at the end of the book now! Which is awesome! It'll be such a wonderful keepsake for them to have. Now it's time for a rockin' summer!

Bobo & Claudine Get Married

Hi peeps,

Our good friend Bobo got married Saturday to his lovely lady, Claudine. What a rockin' couple! A blue haired bride and Star Wars gages! It was a sweet and small wedding, I felt very honored to be there. Bobo has been Sean's best friend since middle school and back in 7th grade he was just my friend Chris's older brother, haha! We may to see him as often as we like but they are such wonderful people and we had a blast!

Durning the ceremony Bobo wrote and song for her, it was so adorable he even started crying at the end of it, I got all choked up! It was about getting to spend his life with her. The sweetest thing I ever saw! Then we all headed to the reception at this restaurant that let's you book events in their big room. We had a great table with some awesome friends!

A key which I've made into an ornament so we can always remember this day and a fan and even bubbles, which Kim couldn't stop blowing through out dinner, haha! The sign in book was so sweet, the theme of the wedding was "Till Death Do Us Part" it was so them!

Their dad who is obsessed with me and Sean, haha! He always is like "Ah, my favorite couple!" and "You're love is so beautiful!" all with his heavy Nicaraguan accent. He went around with a camercorder to record every moment. At each table he asked us to say stuff. But I'mm too awkward for that so I just let Sean speak and smiled... then did a "wooowhooo!" embarrassing! Haha!

Prom shot! And below is Sean, Andrew, and Bobo they all were best friends since middle school. Though at first Sean and Andrew hated each other because they both thought THEY were Bobo's best friend... they didn't know people could have more then one best friend! Hahaha! Now Andrew and Sean are obsessed with each other and He's over our house almost every day. Love it!

Here is a picture of Topher, myself, and Bobo, would have never thought I'd be at this wedding one day! Crazy how life works out! So all in all it was a great night and very memorable! Claudine and Bobo even got me a gift of a paw print necklace. They only gave them to a few girls, we all love our dogs and we make them be best friends. They even had Boomer and Apollo at the ceremony!

Hope you had a good weekend as well!

Flamingos Are Life.

Honestly, they are.

I have an addiction to flamingos. Maybe too much.... nah, never mind, no such thing as too much! It's an inside joke between my sister and mom about our love for flamingos. It's a passion. I even plan on getting a flamingo tattooed on me as a special tattoo for my mom. Sissy already got one that's for her on my back, so she can't be selfish and get all jelly, haha! SO for Dina's  gift from the bridesmaids I hand painted a card for her. My specialty. Dina is like obsessed with my hand made cards! I love making cards for people, since I don't take time to paint anymore this is when I can get my creative juices out. So of course I did a flamingo card! And I made cupcakes too, also flamingo themed! I forgot to do a DIY for the cupcakes though, sorry! I do have a DIY coming up though, I haven't done one in a bit so I hope you like it.

Front of card has one flamingo for each bridesmaid and one for sissy, then on the back I did a Dina and Odie bride and groom! Love how it came out so much!

Here are the cupcakes!

Hope you liked my creations!

Phase One Of Bachelorette Party

Hi everyone!

Yesterday we had my sister's bachelorette party! It was at this awesome pottery painting place in West Hartford called The Claypen. You get to pick out a ceramic piece, it ranges from ornaments to figurines to mugs and plates. We had about 17 people come, such a great group of ladies. The reason we are having to bachelorette parties is because two of the bridesmaids are underage. We were trying to think of what we could do then my cousin Abby had the idea to go to one of those painting classes were they help you to do a painting and they usually have wine. But you still needed to be 21. So I did a little research then I remember that the girl I watch goes to the pottery painting place in the center with her mom. Adults go all the time too, you can even BYOB. So we booked a party for us. They told us we can bring food and drinks. I made the cutest cupcakes, we had chips, cheese and cracks, someone even made little sandwiches. Everyone had a blast! I chose a giant mug to paint. Anyone who knows me I love tea! I was on a flamingo kick, so I painted mine with them. One one side I wrote "Who gives a flock." My sister, mom, and I are OBSESSED with them. It's our thing. I of course forgot to take a picture, but once I pick it up Friday I'll snap one to show you all. The paint colors aren't the same as the come out after the put them in the kiln. So I hope I didn't accidentally do the flamingos purple, the pink and purple were very close in color. Haha, oh well. It'll still be awesome, I'm sure! Did a beautiful fish that you put a candle. I can't wait to see her's! Below is a group photo of all of us!

My cousin Abbie and Aunt Jackie are on the left, Cece (One of the maids) is next to her. My adorable mom is upfront in the black/white top. I'm behind her. Emily (Bridesmaid) is behind me and on the right of her is my bestie, Alex. All the other girls are Dina's friends. Though my cousin Marisa (Bridesmaid) left a little before this picture!

The bridesmaids and I also gave Dina her gift. It was a wedding day emergency kit! I also hand painted her card! I'mm do another post to show it and explain what you should put in a wedding day bag! I'll throw a picture in of the cupcakes too! So basically all of you need to go to one of these places, you won't regret it!

Love always,

Sickening.

Hey guys,

Sunday morning my sister called me to tell me what happened Saturday night... My brother Joe got punched in the faced. He was walking around Hartford bar area with my brother Nick and they separated and were just doing their own thing. Nothing usually. Joe was walking with a random friend from a bar to the next bar. It was only 10:30pm. As Joe was turning the corner he lightly brushed against a girl by accident. He apologized and the girl was like oh it's okay, no problem, not a big deal. So Joe with his friend continue walking. All of a sudden her boyfriend comes out of no where. As they are walking away, the guy yelled something so Joe turned around and get punched so hard in the face. He not only got hit but fell into a brick wall. He is unconscious and and is laying on the sidewalk for 20 minutes on a busy street before someone calls to get him help. Their was a crowd of people who WITNESSED this. They did NOTHING. That 20 minutes could have meant life or death. This makes sick to my stomach. My brothers eyes were swollen shut and all he remembers was being in the ambulance not a clue what was happening just hearing people talking. He couldn't even talk because his face had fractured bones and his jar was swollen. It was so scary. Then he blacks out again and wakes up on and off in the hospital. They had no one to call because my brother didn't have his phone on him. So my mom got a call at about 8am form the hospital! My mom couldn't even recognize him, his face was so bad. What the hell is wrong with people. Not ONE person did anything, they all just left him laying there, not moving. As of know they don't know much. I hope they find this guy and arrest him. I just feel sick over this. Honestly, I hope these people think about what they have done and that guy pay a price for what he did.

Please remember to help people in need and don't just walk away...

Quote Of The Day

I saw this on facebook and really liked it.
