THANK YOU STORM. Last night the storm ruined the nice leaf pile a teen who had to do volunteer work for school did for us. You're a real pal, mother nature.

Abby Meets Ranger

Yay finally, the pups got to meet. At first Ranger was very shy by the end he warmed up to my goofball. And even was trying to play. Cautiously of course. Haha. They were adorable! And enjoyed the homemade treats! Though we left before Odie came home, so we plan on going back later so he can be home from work. He was so jelly! I'm glad Abby has a new doggy cousin. Plus she can show Ranger the ropes to livin' the good ol' dog life!

This was them right before we left. How precious! Below is them playing outside and Ranger just starting to play with Abby, trying to keep up. Ranger is hilariously goofy and flops on the ground a lot. very rolly polly olly!

One inside Sean was playing with them on the ground, Abby's favorite game with Sean. Trying to get to his face for kisses. Usually it's under a blanket but Sean just used his hood to hide and they were adorable trying to get in it!

Have a doggy filled day!

Halloween Party Pictures

Here are some of the photos from my Halloween party. This party I had two photobooths! My usual big one was just black backdrop with spiderwebs put on it and I decided to make a mini booth as a mugshot background! It was one people could take pictures themselves using their phones, I did snap some though if someone asked me to. They came out great!

Below are some of my favorite pictures from the main booth!

I've always dreamed of being Snow White for Halloween and of course I had to show off my tattoo! I did an old renaissance long skirt over a costume I got at Spirit Halloween, I wanted to make it more classic looking. I tried to copy her makeup as much as I could and curling my hair was a challenge that's for sure. Short hair is hard to work with! By the end of the party I was hot so I took off the bottom part, glitter everywhere! Basically my costume was a hit at the party and everyone said I had done an excellent job! So yay! Below is my bestie being Emma Swan a.k.a. my daughter (Once Upon A Time tv show)

This group shot is my brother Joe, Myself, my cousin Marisa, my brother Nick, and in front my cousin Ryan. Below is not a photobooth photo but I like it!

Doggy Treats

Pumpkin peanut butter dog treats!

What better way to tell your pet you love them today than a special treat just for them! I have always wanted to make my own dog treats for Abby so I searched far and wide on the web to find the perfect recipe! Mostly something easy to make since I'm not the best baker. I saw this particular one a few times. It has canned pumpkin, which is great for dogs for many reason, one thing it helps with is their digestive health for both diarrhea and constipation. It keeps them regular, haha! Peanut butter is another k9 favorite, packed with protein, vitamins, and healthy fats. Of course any of these ingredients should be used in moderation, too much of anything can be unhealthy! So stick the steps and it'll be your dog's new favorite treat and it only took me an hour in total!

What you need:

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 1/2 cups wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs

If you can, go with a more natural peanut butter with no sugars in it! This was all I had but it was only a little bit in the mix!

Step One:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Turn your oven on to preheat it, something I usually forget to do! Thankfully I remembered this time. Gather the supplies you'll need. Mixing bowl, rolling pin, cookie sheet, and ingredients.

Step Two:

Mix together the pumpkin, peanut butter, flour, salt, cinnamon, and eggs. Add water as needed because it is a little dry as you are stirring. I would do a little at a time till it is easy to work the dough. I do not have a machine mixer so my wisk was not working and I just had to dig in with my hands to mix it well! The dough should be dry and tough.

Step Three:

Sprinkle some extra flour on the counter and place the dough down. Start rolling your dough out into a 1/2 inch thick roll. Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes, if you don't have one use a steak knife and make your own design, like me! It's not as perfect but I don't think your dog will mind.

Step Four:

Bake treats in the oven for about 40 minutes or until hard.

And that's it! Let the treats cool completely before giving it to your dog! I'd say my baking was pretty successful! Both my dog, Abby and my sister's puppy,  Ranger enjoyed the little surprise! Hope you liked my DIY dog treats. Well... I hope your dog does!

Love always,
Christina

My Little Pumpkin

It's that time of year again where I have my close friends over for food and pumpkin carving! Jaime helped me make apple crisp so we had a nice fall treat and I made sure to be festive with my new Disney shirt that glows in the dark, haha! This year I had no idea what to carve and after endless tries of drawing Stitch on my pumpkin I wiped the marker and decided on making my puppy! Not too bad, haha. Abby was not amused. Everyone's came out great, but of course I forgot to get the tealight candles to place in them, so I only had one giant Yankee Candle one. So a few of us whose pumpkins were big enough got to see it lit, the others had to just use their imaginations! Eventually we finished carving and started rocking out to Rock Band. I never know the songs though, but it was fun nonetheless! I love Halloween activities!

Happy Autumn,

Quote Of The Day

"It's just a bad day,
not a bad life."

I very much stand with this quote now a days. Years prior I've always hated my life. I use to think "Why me?" sometimes still I forget my life is wonderful. But then I remember my many positives when a bad day happens. Bad days suck, but life is good. I'm very thankful I feel that way after many bad years with horrible memories. Now I love the life I am lucky enough to live.

Say It Forward

I will always be open about my mental health because I want others to know not everyone with bipolar disorder is a crazed serial killer like on every tv show and movie people see. I want others to know they are not alone in how they are feeling. I want others to know they CAN get help if they just admit they are having troubles. I want others to know that life does get better. It did for me.

I Scream For Ice Cream

Much deserved treat for me and the bestie after a day of Halloween shopping! Mortensen's homemade ice cream was just what we needed!

Jenna & Norm

Hello lovebirds,

Sean's sister Jenna got married to a wonderful guy named Norm in a sweet private ceremony in September. This past weekend they had a family gathering at this quaint bed and breakfast. Both his and her relatives and close friends gathered to meet each other and intertwine the families together. You could see the happy faces throughout the entire place. Sean's mother had joyful tears in her eyes and his father had the biggest smile there.

I was honored to be taking photos of all the little details, something I enjoy doing. Jenna worked so hard on planning the event and the decoration. She really did an incredible job. She has a very good eye when it comes to decor! So I couldn't wait to see what she had come up with! And I wasn't disappointed.  She had green apples in these little cartons, small candles, name tags, paper straws in each cup, and mason jars filled with all different types of plants such as wheat, cotton, white roses, and a bunch more that I don't know what they are called, haha! But she made it look elegant and natural all at the same time.
There was an indoor area with many rooms, tables, a bar, and a "living room" with a couch were many waited before food was served. Of course Sean and the all cousins mostly hung out at the bar till then. I took the pictures of everything then Sean, myself and his two cousins, Lindsay and Ryan all went outside and I grabbed the pictures of the tables set up on the porch. And of course grabbed some pictures of us all looking good!

Each of the stunning mason jars at the end of the night were offered to anyone who wanted one. I definitely did! I put it right in the center of my coffee table in the living room, first thing people will see when they walk into my house. Anyway, back to the reception. At dinner time we all picked out our seats, the women placed down their purses and men saved their seats with the suit jackets. We picked a perfect spot at the end of the dining room , my seat right next to the window. They had white lace curtains hanging down, it really let the light in. They had a small buffet set up with some different options for people to choose from. I had so much of the macaroni and cheese. It was addicting. I swear it. Sean's middle sister, Jordan even got a chocolate milk, the staff was so nice catering to all of us! We sat for a while just enjoying each others company, plus I had heels on so it was nice to relieve my feet for a bit. Dessert was going to be served shortly. They had these delicious moist red velvet and vanilla cupcakes, both filled with a jelly. I believe it was strawberry flavored. Everyone had one or two!

After that, Sean and I got up and mingled with family members. I love Sean's family so much. They have really made me feel apart of their family. Even when we had just started dating they treated me like one of them, now it's been almost 5 years!

Jenna and Norm did a lovely toast to say thank you to everyone who came. The celebrated the love their parents and their grandparents had. Each got a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. It was very sweet to see how long all of those couples had been married for and how in love they still are. I hope one day Sean and I can say we've been together ten, thirty, fifty or more years together!

After, it was family photo time with the professional photographer. The women did group shots for the couple. Below is a group shot of Sean's mother's side of the family. This photo was not taken by myself. You can see my little head in the back on the left. I almost look like a floating head, haha!

It was a lovely time and great memories were made! Jenna looked stunning in her lace gown and Norm looked very sharp in his suit! Below is Sean's mother with each of us.

Three generations in one picture... not in that order. We got a group shot of the cousins and a nice one of new brothers, Sean and Norm!

It was a lovely time with wonderful people!
